David Neilly

Global Director, Human Resources, Hatch

David Neilly has devoted over 30 years to helping organizations achieve superior business results through organizational strategies and programs.   

 

David is currently the Global Director, Human Resources for Hatch, a 9,000 person, employeeowned, professional services firm with corporate roots extending back more than a hundred years.  Hatch operates in over 150 countries around the world in the metals, energy, infrastructure, digital, and investments market sectors.  Hatch has been recognized in multiple years as one of Canada’s Top Employers and Best Managed Companies, and has received countless international awards in the areas of innovation, sustainability and project management excellence. 

 

David leads a multinational team of Human Resources professionals, supporting Hatch’s business with services and programs that aim to create a highly productive and engaging workplace. 

 

David is also a member of Hatch’s Global Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee, which aims to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace in which all employees—no matter their gender, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, disability, or even way of thinking—can reach their full potential. 

 

Before joining Hatch in 2012, David ran a successful Human Resources consulting firm for eight years, and prior to that performed in senior HR and consulting roles in highly respected multinational firms such as Bell-Northern Research, GlaxoSmithKline and Willis Towers Watson. Although he is a true generalist with a wide array of HR, business and management skills, he specializes in the areas of HR strategy, HR service transformation, compensation design and employee engagement. 

 

David received his Master of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the Western University in Canada.  He has completed professional development programs with the NTL Institute, Center for Creative Leadership and American Compensation Association.  He has written extensively on the topics of total rewards and employee engagement, and has spoken to groups such as the Conference Board of Canada, the annual HRPA conference, and CRHO Conference. 

 

David lives in Oakville, Ontario with his wife, has two grown children, plays golf and basketball, and has a passion for mentoring young professionals.
